On the 150th Anniversary of Richmond Town Methodist Church

Rev. Mathew George M • District Superintendent, Bangalore

Dear Congregation of Richmond Town Methodist Church,

Warm greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

It is with great joy and thanksgiving to God that I extend my warmest congratulations to the ministers, office-bearers, members, and the entire congregation of Richmond Town Methodist Church on the joyous occasion of its 150th Anniversary.

One hundred and fifty years of Christian witness is a remarkable testimony to the faithfulness of God. Through changing times and generations, Richmond Town Methodist Church has stood as a beacon of the Gospel — proclaiming Christ, nurturing believers, serving the community, and bearing faithful witness to God’s transforming love. This significant milestone invites us not only to celebrate the rich heritage of the past but also to look forward with renewed faith and vision to what God desires to accomplish in the years ahead.

As you commemorate this historic anniversary, may the words of the Psalmist continue to inspire the congregation:

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.”
Psalm 127:1

The ministry and witness of the Church are built upon the grace of God and the sacrificial commitment of generations of faithful servants. It is altogether fitting that you have chosen to document this heritage under the title Grace and Growth.

I place on record my appreciation for your leadership, Rev. Rajesh Anand, and for the dedicated ministry of the pastoral team, lay leaders, and members of Richmond Town Methodist Church. May this anniversary strengthen the bonds of fellowship and inspire the Church to remain steadfast in worship, faithful in mission, compassionate in service, and courageous in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As you celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness, may the Lord bless Richmond Town Methodist Church with a renewed vision, spiritual vitality, unity, and abundant fruitfulness. May the coming years witness even greater opportunities to serve God and humanity, and to be a blessing to the city of Bengaluru and beyond.

“Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
1 Samuel 7:12

May the God who has faithfully led this Church for 150 years continue to guide, strengthen, and bless Richmond Town Methodist Church for generations to come.

With prayers and warmest greetings on this historic and joyous occasion.
