THE SHEPHERDS — R · T · M · C
Four Letters. Four Dimensions of a Life Shared with This Congregation.

Rev. Vinay Kumar Moses • Presbyter in Charge, RTMC • 1977–79 and 1985–1988

To God be the glory for great things He has done in and through Richmond Town Methodist Church — gathering together the disciples of Jesus the Christ in response to His Gospel, the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

Clementia, my wife, John, my son, and I were given, in the sovereign and loving purposes of God Almighty, the privilege of becoming part of the family of Richmond Town Methodist Church in the 1970s, by the appointment of Bishop M. Elia Peter.

Accepting that appointment was not merely accepting a ministry — it was accepting a family. The whole church received us and walked with us in the ministry Jesus had given us together.

As we look back across those years with grateful hearts, four dimensions stand out. They are best expressed in four letters: R, T, M, C.

R — Relationships

Ephesians 3:14–21 • Philippians 1:3–6

We cherish the relationships.

Happy, joyful times — births, marriages, answered prayers, problems resolved.

Sad times — accidents, deaths, marital struggles, the weight of uncertainty.

In all of it, what we found at RTMC was a congregation that responded as a family. We prayed together. We trusted the grace of Christ to sustain us and to show His answer in His time.

As I ministered, the members formed the team around me.

What a faithful God we have.

T — Triumphs Through Trials

2 Corinthians 4 • Romans 8:37

We remember the times of trials and testing — within the wider church family and within our own.

The support we received from the members of RTMC in those moments was overwhelming. We will never forget it.

In those seasons, RTMC ministered to their minister.

That is what family does.

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Romans 8:37

M — Mission of Jesus

Acts 1:8 • Matthew 28:18–20

We rejoice at the mission God fulfilled through the RTMC family.

Wilson Garden Methodist Church — from a family prayer meeting.

Indiranagar Methodist Church — from a Bible study in a garage, begun by one family who had responded to the Gospel of Jesus.

Koramangala Methodist Church — from the vision of two members in a newly developing part of the city, and the open home of a newly married couple.

And the extensions that followed in subsequent years.

We thank God Almighty — El Shaddai — who by His Spirit empowered Richmond Town Methodist Church to trust and obey the Lord.

C — Celebration of the Grace of God

1 Corinthians 15:9–11

In the light of all the above, we as a family celebrate the grace of our Lord Jesus the Christ — the Messiah — who blessed us so faithfully.

In celebrating His faithfulness, we commit our remaining years on earth to our Lord.

And we pray for Richmond Town Methodist Church in the words of Charles Wesley:

Finish then thy new creation,
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation,
Perfectly restored in thee:
Changed from glory into glory,
Till in heaven we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

AMEN.
