One of the most distinctive experiences when one enters the RTMC campus is the greenery and the tree canopy.
There’s something about the environs that impresses upon us the feeling that the Lord has always spoken silently through nature — to show us life’s daily miracles, things which pass us by because we are too busy to notice.
Not for me. I notice.
I see photographs waiting to be taken, angles waiting to be captured, which will always remind those who come after us about the sweet, cool environs of the RTMC campus, and how God speaks to us through the place itself.
I’ve been photographing the campus and the sanctuary since 2003.
We’ve seen a gradual decline in the green cover since 1998 — a significant loss of trees, the wildness of nature, the grass banks, the lawn with its distinctive yellow blossoms that came out in the rain, the garden that used to adjoin the left side wall.
Neat and paved ground only serves to take away the power of natural green, stifling one of the ways in which God speaks His silent control over everything.
You can judge for yourself, from the photographs.
The church building framed by the rain tree canopy — the definitive view of the RTMC campus
Morning sun breaking through the rain trees

The lamp-lit avenue leading through the campus grounds
The compound from the stone bench — a quiet corner, lush with shrubs and lamp-posts
The rain trees at dusk, campus lamp glowing beneath
The campus after rain — wet cobblestones, palm fronds, overcast sky
“There is still space for me there — succour, sweet memory, of years that passed so delightfully in that place. God used not just an entire church of people, but also an unforgettable geographical place, to show me who He is.”
